  • Historical Research, Collection +Content Research

    Resource studies, administrative histories and special resource history studies.

    Artistic or historic research into the background of a holistic collection or individual artworks within. This research can be used for such activities as the development of exhibitions, artwork valuation and the refinement of conservation strategies, among others.

  • Collection Surveys and Condition Reports

    Analysis of the state of the collection as a whole, including all information associated with the collection (Tombstone information, past treatment or condition reports, valuation, year purchased, insurance, etc.)

    Assessing each piece’s structural stability, surface changes and the general state of the artwork or artifact.

  • Management Plan Development

    Assessment and development of a range of management documents needed for cultural heritage entities, such as Cultural Resource Management Plans, Museum Collection Management Plans, Scope of Collection Statements, Historic Furnishings Reports, Historic American Engineering Record documentation.

  • Registration + Database & Image Management

    The administrative work of cataloging and managing the inventory of a collection, including shipping and tracking logistics, as well as insurance research and appraisals. For clients who live in high-risk areas for natural disasters, we also provide mitigation and removal strategies in case of floods, wildfires or earthquakes.

    Organization and ongoing management of associated collection assets, including: photographs, surveys, treatment and condition reports, valuations or other data. This is particularly helpful for ensuring future insurance coverage.

  • Collection Packing & Storage + Installation & Removal

    Developing step-by-step instructions for the movement and storage of objects, taking into consideration changes in temperature, humidity, security, physical barriers, etc.

    Anticipating and planning for common causes of damage during the installation and de-installation process. From the hanging of a painting to the transfer of a heavy object by crane, our experience spans a wide range of challenges. On a more detailed level, we also can assist with the installation of security hardware or oz clips, depending on the needs of the client.
